The Friends of Rough River working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Rough River State Resort Park conducted their annual Trash Bash on Saturday Sept 10th.  With the help of  57 community volunteers, the organization collected and removed trash and debris from the lakeshore…remnants of a busy summer season.

“With more than 1 million visitors to the Rough River Lake area each season, we anticipate that our lakeshore clean-up efforts will be an ongoing mission with a new concentrated area approach being considered for the coming years. We rely on the environmental stewardship conscience of  all of our volunteers to make this effort successful and with the help of the Corps of Engineers and the State Park, we will continue our work to keep Rough River Lake a clean and enjoyable recreational destination.” said Friends President Charlie Corbett.
